In 1992, a small group of Midlands-based hauliers saw the potential for a structured network system that would offer a collection and delivery service for palletised goods, operating in a similar way to the established hub and spoke parcel distribution networks. The typical delivery profile would be 1-3 pallet consignments and the quality of the service would be assured by each member having a shareholding in the business.

The first days' activity saw 51 pallets pass through the system. Today Palletline has over 70 members, all of whom are quality, like-minded hauliers providing delivery of small pallet consignments throughout the UK. The network is now regarded as a market leader in the distribution of palletised goods and the concept of shared user distribution is generally recognised as a cost-effective and environmentally friendly delivery mechanism. Palletline customers range from small one-man enterprises to large multi-national concerns.

Framptons Transport Services Ltd joined the Palletline system in 1995. We cover the local postcode areas of BA, DT, SP7 and 8, and collect and deliver daily within these areas, trunking nightly to central hubs in Birmingham and London.

The beauty of the system lies in its simplicity. It allows smaller, high quality hauliers such as us to compete effectively with the large logistics companies. Each member brings to the network their own particular strengths and specialities, together with local knowledge. Through the combined and individual expertise of its members Palletline is now expanding into a range of European services.
