Our
Barcelona company - Framptons Ibérica SL - celebrates its 10th anniversary
this year! Now established at Parets del Valles on the northern
outskirts of Barcelona, Framptons Ibérica loads not only our own trailers
back to the UK, but those of a number of carefully selected
subcontractors.
They also handle domestic
redistribution locally and nationally and provide a range of storage and
transhipment services
Since its inception the
international haulage market has become much more open and competitive. However,
years of industry expertise has stood Alberto Gallego and his team; Alberto
Jr, Manuel, Jordi and Eva in good stead. We know that many of the
companies we work with appreciate the personal touch and attention to
detail that they provide. The business continues to flourish and
they have much to be proud of.
Many Congratulations Framptons
Ibérica!

DRIVER TRAINING COURSES
The driver delivering your goods is often the
chief representative for your company. Drivers are required to deal with
many different demands and it is important that they are completely
professional at all times. All skills need updating at some time and
driving is no exception. We train our own drivers to very high
standards, but we can also offer a wide variety of driver training and
refresher courses for all classes of vehicle. All courses can be tailored to
suit individual requirements.

Framptons Transport Services
Ltd are now members of the Hazchem Network, which is the first UK network
dedicated to carry such products. Hazchem
members are approved ADR Transport specialists and operate from a specifically designed hub located in Rugby (close to M6 / M1) and managed by
Professional Transport Chemists. The hub is segregated for Packaged Liquids, Gases
and Solid Chemicals.
The Hazchem Network is
designed to provide a next day service across mainland UK for palletised ADR materials - goods that pose problems to conventional
transport networks. Through our Spanish trailer service, we can also
collect ADR goods in the UK and deliver in mainland Spain. For further
information, please visit our website: www.framptons.co.uk/services

LEVEL
PLAYING FIELD
Paul
Frampton addressed the Road Haulage Spring Conference in Malaga last month.
The subject of his presentation was ‘Level Playing Field’ - a
comparison between the Spanish and UK distribution industry and it created
a real frisson of interest amongst the 300 or so delegates.
He
explained how the commercial environment, legislation, enforcement and
taxation in Spain combine to support the profitability of the industry in
a way that UK companies can only envy.

These days pallet networks are so integral to
the distribution industry, it seems strange to think that they are a
comparatively recent phenomena. This revolution was started in 1992
by a small group of Midland-based hauliers who saw the potential for a
structured pallet system that would emulate the established hub and spoke
parcel distribution networks, with each member having a shareholding in
the business. Thus Palletline was formed. The beauty of the system
lay in its simplicity. It allowed smaller, high quality hauliers to
compete effectively with the large logistics companies. Each
individual member brought to the network their own particular strengths,
combined with local knowledge. Today the concept of shared user
distribution is generally recognized as a cost-effective and
environmentally friendly delivery mechanism.
